RETIREMENT CEREMONIES -
Advice & Samples for the Sponsor & Retiree
|
THE
SPONSOR
If you have been appointed, or volunteered, to being a Retirement Ceremony Sponsor for
one of our shipmates, officer or enlisted...treat it as an honorable position. You
are the central point of contact to ensure a sailor who has served their country honorably
for 20 years or more, receives a ceremony that he/she deserves. We feel this web
page provides you all the links and information you need to make it a memorable ceremony
for the retiree and those in attendance. |
|
SAMPLE POA&M
Here is where it all can start so you can
ensure there is nothing you have missed nor are you running around at the last minute due
to something you or the retiree have forgotten -- an effective PLAN OF ACTION &
MILESTONES. Click the link above for a sample POA&M we have used for a retiring
shipmate. And remember: 180 days (yes, 6 months) is NOT too early to get the retiree to
start planning. Some items to accomplish can take a bit longer than normal. |
