Awards Criteria
Created by the folks at Precision Medals.com, this page will display a criteria for every
award that the Navy is authorized to issue including awards that are "ribbon
only" awards. Medals that are common among more than one branch are

Navy servicemembers, required to wear civilian clothing in the actual
performance of
their official military duties, may be eligible for a Civilian Clothing Allowance (CCA) to
defray the cost of purchasing of such clothing.
Types
of Uniform Clothing Allowances
There are 4 basic types of Clothing Allowances: Initial Clothing
Allowances, Cash
Clothing Replacement Allowances (paid to enlisted members on the anniversary month
of enlistment), Extra Clothing Allowance and Military Clothing Basic Maintenance
Allowance.

Monetary Allowances
From the Department of Defense Comptroller - DOD 7000-14.R, Voume 7A,
Chapter 29: In
accordance with law and presidential Executive Order, the Secretary of Defense (or the
Secretarys designee) annually may prescribe the quantity and kind of clothing to be
furnished to an enlisted member of the Military Services, and may prescribe the amount of
cash allowance to be paid if clothing is not so furnished.
