Navy Storekeeper.com Will Be Taken Offline Yet Remain In Service Thru 1 April 2008
- 5 Years of Advancement Exam Support!
This web site was created, shipmates, in 2004 as I felt our sailors needed more
assistance and advice in learning to participate in a navy advancement exam and finding
ALL their bibliography references. It has been a one-man operation since and an
absolute passion and honor of mine to accomplish this for our sailors.
There are 2 main reasons for taking Navy Storekeeper.com web site offline as of 1 April
2008.
ONE: I believe it has served its original purpose. Sailors should definitely be
using, first and foremost, the Navy Knowledge Online (NKO) web site to prepare for an
advancement exam. I believe NKO is turning the corner in providing this and the
Subject Matter Expert (SME) Conferences will make a huge difference as well. So when
those Bibliography References for the next exam cycle are posted at the Navy Advancement
Center (NAC) web site, shipmates, print them out and go directly to your rating page at
NKO.
TWO: My medical situation. If you are not aware, shipmates, I was diagnosed
with Stage IV Metastic Melanoma Cancer in my liver and brain in October 2006. It is
incurable but it is treatable - which shows why I am still on active duty and assigned to
a couple of superbly supportive commands, the PCU GEORGE H W BUSH CVN-77 and FISC NORFOLK
VA. We have expended most of the treatment options at this time, so I believe it
would be unfair to say I would have the strength to update the site when the next
Bibliography References are released on NAC in March and April.
It has been an enormous pleasure to create this web site. I truly hope it has helped
as many sailors as possible for its intended purposes. All the personal time spent
has been well worth it -- no regrets. And I truly hope you have taken this
information, shared it with your shipmates, and used it to continue to develop into the
best sailor possible.
