Integrated Learning Environment (ILE)
The Integrated Learning Environment (ILE) is a strategic initiative and current execution
effort that encompasses all forms of training methods including instructor-led, facilitated,
and computer-based instruction. The ILE supports readiness by enhancing institutional
and individual learning for the total force by providing learning opportunities at home,
the schoolhouse, or afloat.

American Council on Education - Military Guide

For more than a half century the Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences
in the Armed Services has been the standard reference work for recognizing learning
acquired in military life. Since 1942, ACE has worked cooperatively with the armed services
in helping hundreds of individuals earn academic credit for learning achieved while serving their country.

Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Educational Support (DANTES)
DANTES mission is to support the off-duty, voluntary education programs of the Department
of Defense and to conduct special projects and development activities in support of

Navy College Partner Web Sites

In responding to Sailor's need for greater access to higher education, Navy College Program
(NCP) has developed new partnerships with colleges and universities to offer rating-related
degrees via distance learning to Sailors everywhere. These new education partnerships
provide associates and bachelors degree programs related to each rating, and make
maximum use of military professional training and experience to fulfill degree
requirements.

Sailor/Marine American Council on Education Registry Transcript (SMART)
SMART is now available to document American Council on Education (ACE) recommended
college credit for military training and occupational experience.  SMART is an academically
accepted record that is validated by ACE. The primary purpose of SMART is to assist service
members in obtaining college credit for their military experience.
