COLLATERAL DUTIES -

Improve Your Effectiveness for Self & Command
Almost every work center or organizational component has additional or collateral duties assigned by higher authority. These duties are assigned to achieve a wide variety of goals benefiting the command or uniform service as a whole, but do not necessarily directly support a work center or organizational component's primary mission.  Yet every collateral duty, no matter how seemingly insignificant, benefits something, somewhere, or someone...they are that important! To your shipmates. To you. To your command. To your career.

Although the importance of work center, division, and/or department collateral duties should not be diminished, a Command collateral duty representative gives not only your career a boost, but provides the chance to take on a major responsibility within your command.
