2005 Career Handbook by Naval Personnel Command
The Human Capital Strategy supports the evolution of our Navy toward a leaner, smarter and
more adaptable force, better able to meet the threats ahead in the 21st century. This
means the Navy will continue to invest in the growth and development of its most valuable
resource-- people. This handbook has been prepared to outline the benefits of service in
the Navy today. It will afford all Sailors the opportunity to make informed decisions as they
weigh their options and chart their course in life.

Career Management Symposium

A Career Management Symposium is a week dedicated to giving career management directly
to junior Sailors and Officers and to training Command Retention Teams. It provides Sailors
and their families with support to make informed, unemotional career decisions and
provides commands with resources and information to assist their retention efforts.

This
link provides you informational briefs for the Chain of Command as well as copies of
current CMS Briefs (core and optional) that we  provide during a Symposium.  In addition
to the below listed, we can offer other optional briefs such as Promotion/Selection Board,
Individual Augmentee, Career Managment System/Interactive Detailing and Officer/Enlisted
Community Status Briefs during a CMS.
