Relief Society
The mission of NMCRS is to provide, in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps,
financial, educational, and other assistance to members of the Naval Services, eligible
family members, and survivors when in need; and to receive and manage funds to administer
these programs.

The USO
The United Services Organization (USO) mission is to provide morale, welfare and
recreation-type services to our men and women in uniform. The original intent of
Congressand enduring style of USO deliveryis to represent the American people
by extending a touch of home to the military.

American Red Cross
Using the latest in computer and telecommunications technology, the Red Cross sends
communications on behalf of family members who are facing emergencies or other important
events to members of the U.S. Armed Forces serving all over the world. These
communications are delivered 7 days a week, 365 days a year. [ click

NMCRS Quick Assist Loan Program
In January 2008, the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society Quick Assist Loan (QAL)
Program, which has been under evaluation during 2007 at eight of the Societys
offices,
has been expanded to all NMCRS Full Service Offices. The maximum loan available
will be $300, repayable within 10 months.
MVPSOA
Military, Veterans & Patriotic Service Organizations of America - MVPSOA is a
nonprofit
federation that pre-screens and certifies high quality national charities working to
assist
military personnel, their families, and veterans. We present these charities to potential
givers in fund drives at work and on the web.
Navy Mutual Aid Association
The basic purpose of the Association is to aid its members and their dependents or
beneficiaries, by providing with certainty and promptness a substantial sum for their
relief
through the medium of insurance plans at as near the actual net cost as possible. And
also,
to assist in securing for the dependents or beneficiaries without charge the federal
benefits
to which they may be legally entitled.
Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors
(TAPS)
Every year, hundreds of soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines die in
service to our
country. While some of them will make the ultimate sacrifice on the field of battle,
others will lose their lives while living a unique life as a service member. These men
and women will leave behind their beloved family and friends. TAPS is there to provide
comfort, support and care to these military survivors.
Employer Support of the Guard &
Reserve
ESGR Mission: Gain and maintain active support from all public and private
employers
for the men and women of the National Guard and Reserve as defined by demonstrated
employer commitment to employee military service.
Fisher House Association
The Fisher House program is a unique private-public partnership that
supports America's
military in their time of need. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved
one at the most stressful time -- during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness,
disease, or injury. There are currently 32 houses located on the grounds of every major
military medical center and several VA medical centers.
Fleet Reserve Association
The Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) is a nonprofit organization comprised
of enlisted
personnel (active duty, reserve, and retired) of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Coast
Guard. As a congressionally chartered association, FRA's mission is to act as the
premiere "watch dog" organization in maintaining and improving the Quality of
Life for
Sea Service personnel. Since 1924, FRA has been a leading advocate on Capitol Hill
for the men and women who serve on active duty, in the reserve, or have joined the
military retired community.
United Armed Forces Association
UAFA is a non-profit military association established in 1986. The UAFA
purpose is
to promote the political, social and economic welfare of our members and the military
community by providing legislative support, information, member benefits and discounts.
UAFA maintains a constant effort to stop the erosion of military benefits and to gain, for
our members, and all military personnel, more equitable legislation.
The Military Coalition
The Military Coalition is a group of 35 military, veterans and uniformed services
organizations in joint pursuit of working together on issues of mutual agreement,
the
participating organizations can harness the grassroots support of more than 5.5
million
members plus their families and accomplish far more than by working on these
initiatives separately.
Operation Paperback
Operation Paperback is a non-profit, grassroots program of family,
personal friends and
web friends who collect gently used books and send them to American troops deployed
overseas. Anenormously worthy program started by an Air Force Chief Master Sargeant
who served in Kuwait in 1998. CMS Honeywell, the original organizer, passed away in
2002 and is buried ar Arlington National Cemetary.

Military
Family Information Center
The National Military Family Association was organized in 1969 as the
National Military
Wives Association by a group of wives and widows seeking financial security for survivors
of uniformed service personnel and retirees. From their efforts, the Survivor Benefit Plan
came into being. In the ensuing years, NMFA has been in the vanguard of advocacy for
improvements in the quality of military family life. The name of the organization was
changed in 1984 to reflect the broad scope of its involvement. |
